An Exobere is a half man, half spider being that appears in the fifth book. It is a special type of elemental that was once used by the druids to conduct exorcisms. One of these appear in the abandonned warehouse that the druids used as a place of keeping Mr. Gaunt. It was used as a precaution to protect against djinn and was likely placed there by McCreeby himself. The exobere attacks and almost absorbs Layla Gaunt's spirit, but her husband Edward rescues her by striking it on the head and back.
